Well, the whirlwind of birthdays and holidays is giving us a little break right now. Granted, today is Colin's first birthday, but he's in Texas and we won't be heading that way until the weekend, so things are getting back to normal here for a few days at least.
Fin's birthday and his first "friend" party went great! I'll share some pictures soon, but he and all his little friends had a blast with the ball pit, tents and tunnels and of course, the Nemo ice cream cake! Yum.
Christmas was fun, too. The kids got a couple of fun animal tents (a zebra and a shark) which take up tons of space in the house, but they also mean a few hours of playing and hiding when they're up, so they were definitely worth it. And Santa brought a play kitchen, too. Fin had fun helping Daddy assemble it (well, until more family showed up with more presents!) and both kids play with it just about every day. One of his favorite things to make for us is "animal soup". He throws in all his small animals, along with all the fruits and veggies he can find and maybe a hot wheel car or two, and serves it up steaming hot!
Greta just likes to wear the kitchen sink on her head. (I have pictures of this, but am having trouble uploading them right now. Boo.) Her other new favorite thing to do is give kisses! Our little sweetie will pinch her lips together, raise her chin and then say "Mmmmmm-wah!" as she walks across the room to plant one on us. LOVE that!
All in all, it's been a great holiday season and aside from a yuck-o cold I have right now, 2009 is off to a nice start as well. We have a few more birthdays and events in the coming weeks (the trip to Texas this weekend for Colin's first, GaGa's birthday and Uncle Richard's birthday in a few weeks, then our fifth wedding anniversary!) but I don't expect to disappear from the updates again anytime soon.
Will post pictures soon when Blogger is cooperating.
