Greetings from Jess! Benah asked me to keep all of her "peeps" up to date on her big getting rid of cancer day, and it's my honor to share that she came through the surgery today with flying colors!
We got the most important news early on: The cancer has not spread to her lymph nodes. Containment is good!
Benah had two procedures today: One to get rid of the bad cancer boobies, and one to prep her for her new set of boobies once her body is healed enough to handle an expansion. Both doctors came out to see us as their work was done, and both said she was doing great. (Of course she was - she's super Benah!)
Right now, she's in recovery, waking up from the anesthesia, and Dave is by her side. I asked him to get a message straight from her, and this is what she had to say: "Out of surgery. Everything went great. Feeling pretty damn good. Heading home in a bit."
(And just as I was typing that, we got word that they are about to release Benah. Seriously, girl, you just had surgery - you move WAY faster than most people do on a normal day!)
Thanks to everyone who has been keeping up with Benah's journey - it has meant so much to her to have you in her corner, and it has meant so much to her Momma today to see all the virtual notes of supporting pouring in. It definitely gave us lots to read as we waited and waited and waited ;)
